After Screen Tests Lucasfilm Narrows Search For Possible Young Han Solo

It would seem that Disney and Lucasfilm are closing in on a possible candidate to play a young Han Solo in The Lego Movie directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord's upcoming Star Wars spinoff, which is said to be a origin story centered on Han Solo and Chewbacca.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, last weekend in London screen tests were performed with actors Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Taron Egerton (The Kingsman: The Secret Service), whom have come out has the final candidates for the role, however they caution that due to high level of secrecy around everything Star Wars related, there could be other names on the list. Variety however adds that Jack O'Connell (Unbroken), and Blake Jenner (Everybody Wants Some!!) have also made it.

Previous contenders included Milles Teller (Whiplash), Dave Franco (Now You See Me), Ansel Elgort (Divergent), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Logan Lerman (Fury), and Emory Cohen (Brooklyn).

The yet untitled Star Wars spinoff has been scheduled to open in theaters on May 25, 2018.
